It’s not hard for kids to make something their mother will love. Mother’s Day Crafts helps kids voice how much they love their Mom with a handmade gift she will cherish. It can be made at school or at home. Here are some easy Mother’s Day Craft, activities and games for kids to show how much they love their mom and learn more about Mother’s day.

1) Game: Mother Says

Take turns with your students playing Mother Says (instead of Simon Says). Start by giving directions for your child to follow, such as “Mother says wave your hands. Mother says touch your nose. Mother says hop on one foot.” Explain that whenever you give a direction without first saying “Mother says” your child should not do the action. Continue the game as long as you wish.

2) Paper Tulip in a Heart

This tulip in a heart card is the easiest and the cutest card kids can make for Mother’s Day. A heart will reveal itself, along with a nice 3D pop up tulip flower as well as there will be enough space to write your message as well.


Activity time : 30 mins


Materials needed:

  1. Construction paper for heart (pinks, reds or any color really)
  2. Paper for flower (any color) regular print paper or construction paper are both ok
  3. Green paper or green marker
  4. Scissors
  5. Glue




Step 1: Draw and cut out the heart shape from a white paper and a colorful paper. Make the white heart smaller than the colorful one.

Step 2: Paste the white heart on the colorful heart.

Step 3: Draw leaves and stem and cut them out.

Step 4 : Paste the stem and leaves inside the inner heart, on the bottom at the middle.

Step 5: Let the glue dry. Fold the heart in half.

Step 6: Draw the tulip flower shape on a paper and cut it out and paste it above the stem. You can use the same color for all of them, or make it multi color. Cut out equal shapes of tulip and fold them into half and paste on top of the first tulip.Close the card and let it set.

3)  I Love You Mother’s Day Craft

This is a simple craft that the kids can help with and can be done quickly.

Activity time: 30 mins

Materials needed:

  1. Colorful foam or paper.
  2. Hot glue gun
  3. Glue
  4. Scissors


Step 1: Cut out the shape of a flower in an orange or yellow foam or paper.

Step 2: Cut out the petals and paste on the base as well as the inner part.

Step 3: Let it dry and you can write on top of it.

Step 4: Stick the stick as stem using a hot glue gun.

4) Snack Time:

Talk to children about how we can help our mothers. Explain to children that we can help our mother by making our own snack and cleaning up after ourselves. Let children prepare their own snacks. Provide plastic plates, sandwich bread, plastic knives, jellies, cream cheese, or margarine.In small groups, let children spread their favorite bread spread on their sandwich for their snack.


5) Mother Child love craft

Materials needed:

  1. Paper Plate
  2. Cardstock Paper
  3. Craft Stick
  4. Crayons
  5. Gluestick
  6. Scissor
  7. Safety Cutter
  8. Tape


Step 1: Draw the outline of mom and child on a white paper.

Step 2: Color the mom and child using crayons.

Step 3: Cut out the mom and child figurine.

Step 4: Make a heart on a paper plate and colour it pink using a light pink pencil or crayon colour.

Step 5: Tape/glue a craft stick at the back of child figure.

Make a cut in the paper plate such that the craft stick attached to the child moves comfortably through it. Glue the mom figurine to the paper plate. Insert the craft stick attached to the child through the cut and your interactive mother’s day craft is ready.

6) Mother and Baby Animals Matching Activity

Using some pictures, place mother and baby animal pictures face down on a table or the floor. Have two to four children take turns matching the mothers to their babies. If a child matches a pair, he/she takes the pictures. If the match is incorrect, the pictures are turned face down again. Children continue until all the mothers and babies are paired. The winner is the person with the most matches.
